From time to time, I will have a close call while driving, and it serves to remind me of how good God is to me. Considering how much of my work entails driving (especially when we worked in Boston every day), and with several long trips a year for personal or business reasons (Ohio to Tennessee or New England), I am very grateful for God's hand of protection. I know there are many people praying for our family, particularly for safety on the road. I just want to thank you for those prayers! I'm sure there are many more "close calls" that are not even close enough for me to realize....
I'm not sure when the horn on the truck stopped working, but I need to get it attended to. I know it was working in July when I laid on it to honk at the old lady that I almost broadsided as she nonchalantley u-turned in front of me on I-90 at the state line between Cleveland and Erie. Unfortunately, it was not working last Tuesday night as I almost broadsided a Buick that had run a red light as I was driving the family over to dinner. As she pulled out from in front of me to continue her left turn, she was looking up at me with a pertrubed expression, like I was the one in HER way. This definitely should have been a honkable offense, and the fact that I wasn't honking at her probably reinforced in her mind that I was at fault for the close call. I don't know how I stopped in time in either of those situations - except by the grace of God!
