Just a quick note to keep everyone updated and to let you all know what specific prayer requests we have....
Our book season started off with us hitting projected sales figures in early September, but we have been down by about 50% for the last few weeks. We're praying that we'll hit or exceed our projections for the rest of this season.
The biggest news in our life right now, which requires a lot of prayer is that we've decided that we will need to sell our house. There are a number of factors that have played into this decision, the biggest being financial. Our business for the last few years has not been what it needs to be to make our payments (last Spring was terrible, and we've been about 1 month behind in our house payments and unable to catch up since then). I've been in touch with a realtor and have determined that we cannot afford the services of a professional with the market being what it is (she was thinking of listing our home at a price where we would take at least a $16,000 hit, and that would be before any realtor commissions!). We are between a rock and a hard place, so I'm going to be in touch with the mortgage company to see if they can work with us while we try to sell the home. I will be trying to sell the home on my own, in order to save ourselves from any further financial losses.
We do have plans in place to fall back on when we are able to sell this house, I'll save the details of that until things start to transpire. There are a lot of things still up in the air! Right now, we're praying for God's guidance and that He would put the right person in the right place at the right time (we know He always does!) to allow us to sell the home at a price that would allow us to pay off the mortgage. We're also praying that we'll be able to make it through the transition time between this house and our next one, hopefully the bank will be flexible with us as we struggle through.
