For the last two years, I've dreaded this time of year. This is the time of year when everything happens. The money gets tight at the end of our "off" season (especially when we had such a terrible "on" season last spring). Even though the money's not coming in, everyone still wants me to send it out.
With both Heather's and my birthdays in September, all of the "annual" costs are due in addition to the monthly bills. We both had our quinquennial driver's license renewal this month, and I've still got to register the vehicles for the coming year.
I took the car for the state safety inspection (goes hand-in-hand with the registration), and learned that I'm going to have to put about $500 of work into it before it will pass. There was another issue with it that is going to pass for now, but will need to be addressed very soon. I haven't taken the truck for the inspection yet, but it shouldn't have any problems.
Oh - and has anyone else noticed that the price of diesel has gone up about 30 cents a gallon now that we're back into bookfair season? ... price goes down when I don't need it, up when I do!
...
We have some major changes taking place very soon, and we'll keep everyone updated as things happen in our lives. I don't want to go into much detail now, as the Lord only knows exactly what He has in store for us. We've reached a point where we realized that we can't keep going on in the direction that we are going. Over the next few years, I'm hoping to transition into a new career - something that will give me a great deal of job satisfaction, the ability to better provide for my family, and the ability to spend more time with my (growing) family.
Please continue to pray with us for God's leading as we make several major decisions in the coming weeks. We're praying very hard that things will fall into place again, as they always have when we've kept God first as we've had to make big changes in our life.
