Happy New Year!

Well, it's been several weeks since an update from me, so this is bound to be one that you'll have to scroll to read!

The snows in Denver effected our Christmas travel plans. We were supposed to leave from Manchester on the 22nd of December. Our flight was rescheduled for a week later - we wound up cancelling our flights on Continental and driving to be with Heather's family in Ohio for Christmas. We then flew out of Canton on Frontier Airlines directly to Denver on the 28th. We had a great time visiting with Steven and Ashley (and Lilliann and Tinkerbell), and seeing everything there was to see in and around Denver. (I got to visit Caboose Hobbies, which at 1800 square feet is the largest retail model railroad shop in the US! Fun for me!) It was good to catch up with Steven and Ashley, and spend time at their beautiful new home.

While we were there, we went west on I-70 as far as Georgetown, where we stopped for a while to watch the mountain sheep climb the slopes. They took a while to spot, but once we knew how to look for them, we saw several dozen of them!

On New Year's day, we spent the afternoon driving up to and around Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. We've got lots of pictures of the trip and the wildlife that we saw on the trip. We saw lots of deer and elk, some that were walking just a few yards away from the car!

We had a good flight back. Hannah slept from about 10 minutes after takeoff, and for all of Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana. She woke up with just about 40 minutes left until landing back in Canton.

Hannah learned to go down stairs yesterday. She crawls to the top of the stairs, flips herself around and slides down on her belly, legs first, one step at a time. She says "boom" with each step - I'm not sure if this is her way of saying "down" or if she is really saying "boom". She does say boom when she falls while taking steps, or if one of her toys drops.

In other news, we have found a replacement for Heather's Corsica. Several months ago, we posted this about a car on eBay that Heather liked. Who would have known...

We have been watching AutoTrader.com for a couple of options. We plugged in the Ohio zip code near Heather's parent's home, and a 2001 Volvo V70 XC came up in our price range, with low miles for the year. It has all of the options that we wanted, and some that we didn't need but are nice "luxury" items! We're pretty excited about this vehicle, and it is exactly what we need for our growing family!
