I'm not deliberately trying to keep everyone in the dark about what's going on in our lives... there's a lot going on that keeps me busy.
As anyone reading this post should know by now, Heather is pregnant with our second child. I've been trying to help her out as much as I can with things around the house and taking care of Hannah when I'm around. The "morning" sickness is hitting Heather a lot harder this time around than it did last time, so I'm doing my best to make sure she's okay, too (not much I can do, besides making sure we have whatever sounds good to her for eating at the time).
As many of you probably know as well, our spring season for booksales was terrible. We lost 4 accounts to competition (they weren't playing fair - but I guess in business it comes down to who makes the buck). The events that we did run were at or near my projections until Easter, but then sales tanked from mid-April on. So things are pretty tight around here. I've been trying to keep busy with odd jobs or whatever I can do to keep some money coming in. We've been up to Maine a couple of times to help Bob out with projects, and I'm open for whatever comes my way for the summer months as far as work goes. If we did satisfactory work on the upstairs at the camp we worked at last week, the guy was going to have us back to finish the downstairs, so that should keep me busy with Bob for another week in July if it comes through.
And the last reason that updates have been so slow: I used to live with the notebook computer on my lap when I was at home. Updates were easy while I was sitting down to watch evening television or right before bed. Since the laptop died a few months ago, it's been a chore to go to the office to do all of the internet-related stuff. And when I'm here in front of the desktop computer, I'm not able to visit with my girls at the same time... so it hasn't been a priority in the small amount of time that I'm actually not doing something work-related.
I'll try to keep the updates coming when I can!
