We were finally able to take a trip up to Maine this weekend to visit Bob, Kelly, and Matthew! It was amazingly cold up there for August... it really felt more like October. Fortunately we were prepared for the cool!
Bob and Kelly are working on their kitchen, so there were a few projects for Matt to help with. I think they were able to finish everything they wanted for the weekend! We were able to have some time to relax too, which was lovely! Saturday night we had a fire and roasted Hot Dogs! Also had some corn on the cob, yummy! For dessert, we toasted some marshmallows and put together some S'mores! It was wonderful! Hannah enjoyed her first camp fire!! Bob and Kelly had some sparklers left over from 4th of July, so we lit several of those and had a good time! Matthew loved them and Hannah had fun watching all the lights!! I had a ball with them as well, I haven't had sparklers for many years, so it was a fun time and brought back many memories!
Sunday, Kelly's Mom watched Matthew and Hannah while the four of us went kayaking. I have never been in a kayak, but it was pretty easy to get the hang of! It was a cool day, but the sun was out and it was very relaxing. Blue skies, white puffy clouds and the wind blowing in your hair, it was a perfect day for a paddle on the lake!
We took the afternoon and evening to drive home, took the highway most of the way, but got off on Route 1 around Scarborough and made a stop at Parsons Beach. We were there just before sunset, so we had plenty of time to walk down the coast and snap a few pictures of Hannah! We also took our family picture on the rocks! I am sure Matt will be updating the pictures as soon as he gets a chance! Then we headed down the road a little bit, and had a lovely dinner at a cute restaurant called Maniax (I think it was in Wells)! Then we got back on the highway and headed home! It was a nice drive, but we were home a little later than we had hoped. It was well worth it though!
Monday, we worked in the garage the better part of the day unloading skids and stickering the new books. Matt made sure the register had all the most current information in it, and loaded everything up for an early morning today. We are hoping that it will be a very good fair the next few days!
Hannah is getting big! We started her on meats and she has plumped right up! I processed some of our pot roast the other day! She really liked that! It is amazing the difference in just a week! She is so cute! Hannah has been really putting sounds together now, it is fun to hear the new sounds each and every day! She is pulling up on everything now, and she sure does get around!! Our baby is growing so fast!
